Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). Operates Australia's diplomatic network including embassies, high commissions, consulates and the Australian Trade and Investment Commission. APS classification structure (APS 1-6, EL 1-2). Rates effective from 12 March 2026.

Full-time pay runs from $1,105.71 per week ($29.88 per hour) at the entry level up to $2,958.69 per week at the top, across 8 classifications. A few examples:
