How we calculate this & assumptions
- Annual leave accrues at 4 weeks per year (5 for shift workers) under Fair Work Act s.87(1); personal/carer’s leave at 10 days per year under s.96(1).
- Calculations reflect completed continuous service as at the selected date (inclusive of that day). Tools modelling progressive day-by-day shift accumulation (such as FWO PACT) can differ by ~10 minutes over a full year due to calendar weekday distribution (e.g. 53 Mondays).
- Long service leave follows the Act of the state or territory where you work; portable-LSL schemes have separate rules.
- Casual service generally does not count towards these entitlements.
- Your award or enterprise agreement may provide more, such as extra annual leave or accelerated LSL access.
