Public Holiday Pay in Australia

The Fair Work Act 2009 s.114-116 sets out public holiday entitlements. Employees absent on a public holiday with ordinary hours that day are entitled to base rate pay. Employers may request work on a public holiday; employees can refuse on reasonable grounds.
